At Last...

Ahhhh....a good feeling to have completed this collage. With my limited time in the studio it took over a week to complete. I really have to make more of an effort to get some time for art.

This collage is a tribute to Doris, the young graduate of the Class of '27, pictured here. It represents all the choices that may have been hers to make and celebrates whatever path she chose for her life. Did she travel the world, make a career in the arts, work as a bookkeeper entering numbers in a ledger, sew in a factory or raise a family and take her youngsters to the picture shows? However Doris spent her days, I hope that she lived her life to its fullest.

This collage is available in my Etsy shop.

very nice collage! I love the old photos- I made an assemblage using an old cabinet card - telling a story about the woman- made up- as I don't know who the woman was-

this is so pretty! What a great tribute. I buy pictures of people all the time and wonder who they were and what they did. Did their dreams come true?
Great collage.

I don't know if many realize how much work and careful thought goes into something as touching as this. I can imagine you feeling a connection with each of the women you so lovingly portray. The good, the sweet, the naughty.

Beautifully and thoughtfully created works of art like this are true treasures.
