Journal to the Rescue

What do you do when you're having one of those days? Your tendinitis is acting up and the cortisone shot just makes it worse, you go 15 rounds with your teenage son over video games and it's been raining for two days. Your heart aches and you feel powerless to change things that are beyond your control. You feel like burying your face in your pillow and having a good cry. But then...you remember the "Collage Play with Crowabout" that you'd decided against this week....you couldn't quite drum up an idea for the images given. But in an effort to find solace you turn to your journal with collage elements, paint, markers and glue stick in hand...and if for only an hour or so, you forget the tears that are just behind your eyes. If only for an hour or so.

Sometimes journaling is the best medicine.

Gosh, Nancy, your art is always so upbeat that I had no idea you had such a hard day. I am sorry! But I'm glad you found solace in your art and journal!! I hope your tendinitis AND teenage son have quieted down...Hugs, Silke

I agree with Silke, you never hear from you that things are anything less then wonderful but you are human of course and those days do come, it's comforting to know we can take an hour like you said and let our art heal us even for a moment! Love your journal entry :) nice!

oh dear girl...take care...and cry if you want to...pain is such an isolating thing...and teenage boys are so self absorbed...

Oh from one mama to another, I hear you girl! Control is an illusion I hear folks say but when you feel it is all gone, those are the worst days. You turned it around though, took charge, changed your destiny even a bit and took control and made something beautiful and wonderful. And you wrote a post that we can all relate to and sympathize with. Lovely work on both counts! Tomorrow will be better. I promise.

Ah the cortisone shot almost won. But the journal pulled you back into that wonderful world where your talent shines and lets you know how wonderful you are. I love your new background. It has that rich feel of silk and the softness of an aged tapestry.

Feel better soon!

Nancy, I am so sorry life is getting to you, too! Tendonitis, cortisone shots, unruly kids, are you living my life? I hope working on this piece "took you away" from it all, at leat for a while. It looks great, so it must have worked!

Wonderful, Nancy, that your art can bring peace and calm at a tough time. N-A-N-C-Y, a kind lady I know from an etsy team and one quickly to share kind words and support, and gorsh.. a human who has real problems and bad days and pain and we're surprised to find out she fights them quietly behind the scenes. {{{{hugs}}}}

what a heartfelt posting...kids do eventually turn out ok...it's just so hard to be in the middle of all of their angst and teen-ageryhood...sorry your tendinitis is acting up too...the line from a song just came to my mind..."the sun will come up, tomorrow..."
