Illustration Friday ~ Pet Peeves

Today's Illustration Friday topic was intriguing. As I thought on the subject, it occurred to me that I have a number of pet peeves but not all of them lend themselves to a piece of art.

I decided to settle on this collage, Java Junkie. Faithful readers of my blog might remember from previous posts my delight in a really good cup of coffee. The aroma, the taste, the warmth...it all appeals to me. So it has been a pet peeve of mine that the medical community cannot decide if coffee is good for me or the bane of my existence. It seems that every year or so the scientists change their mind on the subject of coffee and its demon ingredient, caffeine. Since I cannot bear the thought of life without coffee, I choose to revere the statistics that tell me coffee is a great anti-oxidant and ignore the reports that tell me to stop drinking it tomorrow.

There you go...pet peeve number one.

I don't read coffee...I believe the other side of the reports! LOL
However, my poor hubby is equally addicted to coffee and he would definitely appreciate your feelings! :D

I like this piece and the coffee colors in the background. You always create the perfect senitments to go with your collages, both within the piece itself and in your blogging journal.

My thoughts on this: There can never be enough caffeine (or chocolate.)

I know what you mean about conflicting and ever-changing medical opinions. If we could all manage to have what we love...in moderation. I'm working on that! Wonderful collage :)

Yikes...sorry about your bad day Nance! reminds me of the time my husband was at a stop light and when it turned green the lady ahead of him stayed right where she was. He gave her a polite little 'toot' and you know what she did? She held up her cell phone (no kidding) and screamed at him..."I'm on the phone!!" he screamed back at her "My point exactly!" man, we could go on all night about pet peeves. Funny thing is, I really don't sweat the small stuff. Much.

What a beautiful collage! As for the coffee dilemma - who cares? The stuff is the elixir of life in my book... so I say drink up and enjoy. And have a nice piece of dark choclate with it:>

Scientists be damned! Coffee makes your heart race and impels you to engage in the art of collage. Obviously you've had your fill!

Love your collage.

Drink in moderation.

If God/Nature put it there, it's good, in moderation.

Nice take on the theme and I agree with you - would they make up their mind once and for all, is coffee good or bad for you..? Collage is very appealing, good composition and nice retro feel.

Yes, many of us coffee drinkers whole-heartedly agree, and your piece illustrates your point beautifully. It tickles me that you can put these strong feelings and opinions out there in such a subtle and sweet way with your collages. It makes the message even stronger.

Rock on with your caffeinated self!
